Checklist of Requirements
for operating
Savings, Current, SNTD and Fixed Deposit Accounts
Savings Bank Account can be opened in any branch of Agrani Bank by any Bangladeshi citizen in the name of an individual or a group of individuals which can be operated singly or jointly:
Requirements for opening a Savings Bank Account
1) Account Opening Form to be duly filled out and submitted to a chosen branch of Agrani Bank along with three passport sized copies of the applicant's recent photograph duly attested by an introducer who must be an Account Holder of any Branch of Agrani Bank. Attested copy of Bangladesh Passport of the applicant may also serve as an Introducer
2) An initial deposit of Tk. 100/- is required for opening of the A/c.
3) Minimum balance of Tk. 50/- to be maintained in the A/c.
4) A Savings Bank Account may also be opened in the name of a minor which has to be operated by the minor's guardian.
5) An account in the name of an illiterate person can also be opened which is to be operated by the Account Holder's thumb impression. For each and every transaction of the Account the illiterate Account Holder has to present himself/herself before the concerned Branch officials.
6) All required information as per terms mentioned in the Account Opening Form
7) Interest for the Account is applied in June and December on monthly product basis.
8) An amount of Tk. 20,000/- or 25% of the balance, whichever is lower, can be withdrawn at a time from the account; two withdrawals per week are permissible. Otherwise, the Account is deprived of interest accrued in the month when the permissible provisions are not complied by.
SN: There is a provision for assigning nominee(s) in the account.
Current account may be opened in any branch of Agrani Bank in the name of:
1. An Individual
2. Sole Proprietorship or Trading Organization
3. Partnership Firm
4. Joint Stock Company
5. Association, Club, School, College etc.
6. Account Holder has to be a Bangladeshi citizen
Requirements for Opening of CD Account:
1. An amount of initial deposit of Tk. 1000/-
2. An introducer who has a Current Account. Attested copy of Bangladesh Passport of the applicant may also serve as an Introducer
3. Three passport sized copies of the applicant's recent photograph duly attested by the particular introducer
4. Trade License & TIN Number of the applicant
5. Memorandum & Articles of Association, Certificate of Business incorporation etc. in case of Joint Stock Company.
6. Partnership Deed in case of Partnership Account.
7. Resolution of meeting in case account is in the name of an institution
8. All required information as per terms mentioned in the Account Opening Form
9. Current Account may be operated singly, jointly by two or more persons as per instructions made by the Account Holder(s) in the Account Opening Form and the Specimen Signature Card (S S Card)
10. No interest is payable to a Current Account.
11. In case balance of a Current Account goes down below TK 1000 in any month, Incidental Charges of Tk. 150 is deducted in case of a Company Account and TK 50 in case of an Individual's Account on half-yearly basis.
Short Notice Time Deposit (SNTD) Account:
Terms and conditions of opening and operating SNTD Account are just same as those of Current Account. The only difference is: (a) SNTD earns interest and Current Account does not (b) SNTD Account Holder has to serve Advance Notice before withdrawing money, while no notice is required for withdrawing money from Current Account.
Fixed Deposit Account:
Opening a Fixed Deposit Account for different terms with any Branch of Agrani Bank is very simple. Any individual or a group of individuals can step in to any Branch of AgranBank, fills out a prescribed form, hand out over the counter cash or easily cashable instrument of any amount and leave the Branch with a Fixed Deposit Receipt
